Junior’s Swim School is a specialized adaptive swim program dedicated to teaching water safety and swim skills to individuals with disabilities. We work with swimmers of all abilities, including those with autism, sensory processing differences, physical disabilities, and higher behavioral support needs.

Our approach goes far beyond traditional swim lessons. We believe every swimmer deserves an environment that adapts to them, not the other way around. Each lesson is highly individualized and built around trust, relationship-building, sensory regulation, and evidence-informed strategies. Our team works closely with families and, when appropriate, outside therapists to support meaningful progress in and out of the water.

We operate year-round in indoor, heated pools throughout the Phoenix area and are known for our compassionate culture, strong training support, and deep commitment to inclusive water safety.

As an Adaptive Swim Coach, you will work one-on-one or in small ratios with swimmers who require a more personalized and supportive approach to learning in the water. Your role is to help swimmers build confidence, safety skills, and independence while honoring their unique needs.

This position is ideal for someone who is patient, observant, and passionate about working with individuals with disabilities. Coaches are trained to identify sensory and behavioral needs, implement individualized lesson plans, and adjust the environment to help swimmers succeed.

Responsibilities include:

• Teaching adaptive swim lessons using individualized lesson plans
• Building rapport and trust with swimmers and families
• Implementing sensory regulation strategies prior to and during swim skills
• Supporting swimmers with behavioral or physical challenges in a safe, respectful manner
• Collaborating with supervisors and, when appropriate, outside professionals
• Providing clear and supportive parent feedback after lessons
• Maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive pool environment
